New “Canter” started production in Portugal
- Start to the European global production
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (hereinafter: MFTBC) is the Portuguese subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe (Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe Sociedade Europeia de Automoveis, S.A.: MFTE) Toramagaru factory, a small European markettrack, new “Canter” has started production on October 14.
This production begins in Portugal, the new “Canter” is the first overseas production as KD.
Incidentally, the same day, the Portuguese Minister of Economic Affairs, under the attendance of officials and Daimler Chairman MFTBC Suzuki, conducted the ceremony of the start of production.
The new European market, “Canter” is produced at the factory Toramagaru, will be sold in more than 30 countries. In addition, about 50% or more key components in terms of value (engines, axles, suspension, brakes, tires, etc.) are sourced from suppliers all over Europe.

Toramagaru MFTE factory “Canter” began production in 1980, has sold about 16 million units in Europe to date. We have a view to exports to non-European, we are considering the expansion of production capacity.
MFTBC is the new future. “Canter”, and plans to expand into Europe and other major international markets, we plan to introduce a new market in over 40 countries by the end of 2012.
