If you are having a problem with our Online Auction System. You need to refresh your browser so the changed javascript loads.

here are many ways. In most browsers you can hit the F5 key. In firefox they call it “reload” but F5 still works. For mousaholics there should be an icon on the toolbar near the “home” icon to refresh/reload the web page.

What does refresh mean? For speed purposes, most internet data is cached – meaning it is stored for a period of time on your computer so when you go to a web page you might be seeing an old copy. Refresh tells the browser to go back to the web page and grab everything (every picture, every advertisement, all the text) again. Sometimes CTRL/F5 does a better job than just F5. Especially in internet explorer.

Sequential Number

The first character vehicle identification number (VIN) serial number identifies the country from which the vehicle was manufactured.

First vehicle identification number digit: U.S.A.(1 or 4), Canada (2), Mexico (3), Japan (J), Korea (K), England (S), Germany (W), Italy (Z)

Second vehicle identification number digit specifies the manufacturer. Audi (A), BMW (B), Buick (4), Cadillac (6), Chevrolet (1), Chrysler (C), Dodge (B), Ford (F), GM Canada (7), General Motors (G), Honda (H), Jaguar (A), Lincoln (L), Mercedes Benz (D), Mercury (M), Nissan (N), Oldsmobile (3), Pontiac (2 or 5), Plymouth (P), Saturn (8), Toyota (T), Volvo (V).

Third vehicle identification number digit indicates the vehicle type or manufacturing division.

Fourth through eighth vehicle identification number digit reveals the vehicle features such as body style, engine type, model, series, etc.

The ninth vehicle identification number digit is a VIN accuracy check digit, verifying the previous VIN numbers. This is how the check digit works

STEP 1

Assign to each number in the VIN its actual mathematical value and assign to each letter the value specified for it in the following chart:

ASSIGNED VALUES:

A=1 G=7 P=7 X=7

B=2 H=8 R=9 Y=8

C=3 J=1 S=2 Z=9

D=4 K=2 T=3

E=5 M=3 U=4

F=6 N=4 V=5

STEP 2

Multiply the assigned value for each character in the VIN by the position weight factor specified in the following chart:

VIN POSITION AND WEIGHT FACTOR:

1st = 8 10th = 9

2nd = 7 11th = 8

3rd = 6 12th = 7

4th = 5 13th = 6

5th = 4 14th = 5

6th = 3 15th = 4

7th = 2 16th = 3

8th = 10 17th = 2

9th = check digit

STEP 3

Add the products from steps 1 and 2 and divide the total by 11.

STEP 4

The numerical remainder is the check digit which would appear in the 9th position in the VIN. If the remainder is 10, then the letter “X” is used for the check digit.

Tenth vehicle identification number digit tells the model year. 1988 (J), 1989 (K), 1990 (L), 1991 (M), 1992 (N), 1993 (P), 1994 (R), 1995 (S), 1996 (T), 199 7(V), 1998 (W), 1999 (X), 2000 (Y)——2001(1), 2002 (2), 2003 (3)

Eleventh vehicle identification number digit reveals the assembly plant for the vehicle.

The twelfth to seventeenth vehicle identification number digits indicate the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled of the manufacturers assembly line.

Volunteer work still not open.

The Salvation Army, which has had a presence in Japan since 1895, is sending a team to Sendai to assess damages and hopes to be providing food, water and other necessities by Friday night or early Saturday. In Tokyo, the Salvation Army opened its main building to house and feed commuters who were unable to reach their homes.

To avoid the unnecessary high way traffic and Nuclear leaking issue, we are unable to get close to Sendai we will have to wait until the Salvation Army welcomes the Volunteer workers to come in.

Therefore we are back to work on from 14 March. Apologize for the confusion.

But please keep praying for Japan.

You can now have auction search results emailed to you

We always try to continue to offer our customers with new features on our system that will help them.

Now if you make a search for cars on our online auction access system, you will now see a buttons appear like in the image below

If you click on ‘Email Results Daily’ then an email with fresh results will be emailed to you daily. You can do this for as many searches as you want. Results for multiple searches will be sent in one email. If you wish to not receive emails for a particular search, or not at all you can uncheck these on your ‘Saved Searches’ page after you login.

We have just completed a big server migration meaning that we can can start giving you more features and have a faster smoother running site.

We have also completely re-written all of the database accessing code for security and speed.

Although we have moved 95% of all we need to, you may see a few of your photos and transactions in the invoice based view unavailable. But we will be moving these over in the next week or 2.

We have coming up for you secure https connections to protect all of your data. We also hope to be getting up auction data up earlier for easier bidding.

Although we have thoroughly tested the system, if you notice any bugs or there are any features you would like to see then please reply to the post or email us!
